Field Studies Workshop - Horniman Museum & Gardens
Join us for our new session where you’ll apply your scientific skills in two locations: pond dipping at our pond and exploring our meadow.
Learn how to draw conclusions from your data and develop an understanding of the interactions that shape our landscapes, environments, and climate. You’ll carry out practical investigations, apply sampling techniques using fieldwork equipment, and refine your investigative skills. This session offers a hands-on approach to learning that will enhance your knowledge and skills in both geography and science.
This session will run outdoors on the Horniman Nature Trail and will go ahead unless in the event of extreme weather. Please ensure your children are dressed appropriately for the weather.
In the event of extreme weather, the session will be replaced with our indoor taxidermy-based session.
The Nature Trail and pond are about a 10-15 minute walk from our Museum building, along an unpaved path. Please let us know when booking if any of the children have physical access needs, so we can make arrangements for step-free access to the trail.
