Our home educator days
Our home education sessions for this academic year will be on the first Friday of each month during term time.
On each day there’ll be a programme of workshops, shows or theme days from the education programme.
Space will be reserved in our picnic area, so you can bring packed lunches.
As home educators and home educated children, you pay a reduced price for entry to We The Curious when visiting during term time.
We’ve simplified our schedule and staggered the starts of our workshops to make it easier to plan your day.
How to book:
You’ll be able to book and pay for your day online.
You’ll need a day ticket to We The Curious for everyone in your group.
Once you’ve selected your day tickets, you’ll have the option to select workshops.
Please note that the person booking the ticket also needs to be the responsible adult accompanying the children on the day and in the workshops.
We have a capacity of 30 for each workshop, so we need everyone who’ll be in the room to have a workshop ticket. This includes any accompanying children who aren’t participating, and all accompanying adults.
2025/26 Schedule
Need to know:
- All children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult at all times, including in our workshops.
- Please arrive at the education suite on the first floor 10 minutes before your workshop start time. To make sure everyone has a good learning experience, we can’t admit any late arrivals once a workshop has started.
- Unfortunately we can’t accommodate children who aren’t participating in the ‘DNA Detectives’ and ‘Colourful Chemistry’ workshops as they take place in the laboratory.
Planetarium shows
Planetarium shows are available as part of our public schedule on the day, but these need to be booked separately. You can call or email our team to add a show to your booking or subject to availability, you can book on the day.

Member: free
(You’ll need a ticket to We The Curious for everyone in your group. Whether they are participating in the workshop or not).
