I am Dr Anna Davis, an Oxford PhD, University of Oxford tutor, professional educator, and founder of Sefton Scholars. As a former homeschool student, I understand both the opportunities and challenges that can come with a non-traditional educational journey.
I founded Sefton Scholars to provide personalised academic mentoring for ambitious students who want to strengthen their writing, develop analytical thinking skills, prepare for university study, and build confidence as independent learners.
Support is available for:

I’m a professional educator and Associate Fellow of AdvanceHE. I have worked with students from around the world and across a wide range of educational backgrounds and life circumstances as they prepare for university, advance their academic skills, and navigate higher education in the United Kingdom and the United States. I founded Sefton Scholars because I believe that every student’s journey is unique. Talent, ambition, and potential do not always follow the same path, and neither should the support that helps them thrive.
Academic growth is rarely a straight line, and students do not all learn in the same way, follow the same educational pathway, or need the same support. My role is to help students develop the confidence, skills, and intellectual independence needed to achieve their goals and realise their full potential on their own terms.
